Ostium
Osteopathy and Physical Therapy
The specifics of the majority of jobs performed today is associated with hours spent in front of the computer and lack of physical activity. The accompanying enormous speed of life and stress make our eating habits diverge from the ideal. All of the above factors promote the formation of certain abnormalities in our bodies, which sooner or later generate pain. Of course, the locomotive organ, the spine and peripheral joints will be affected first. Our bodies are made to move, so the lack of it will quickly give us a toll.
Ostium clinic is a place where the patient will find understanding and help. In my practice I use the manual therapy, osteopathy, soft tissue therapy and dry needling techniques. Every first visit to my office consists of:
- an extensive medical interview that is necessary in the diagnosis process
- functional testing
- therapy adapted to the patient’s current condition
- planning further proceedings
- explaining dos and don’ts

FAQ
Find answers to frequently asked questions.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE VISIT?
Wear comfortable clothes allowing the freedom of movement (eg shorts / sweatpants)
Bring all medical documentation you have about the problem.
Since the therapy should not be performed in case of illness or cold with high body temperature, consider changing the date of the visit in this situation.
WHEN TO HAVE PHYSIOTHERAPY?
Do not underestimate any injuries, even those you consider as trivial. Lack of rehabilitation after minor injuries often causes serious changes in our motion system, overstraining it. Thus, for example, an injury you suffered several years ago suddenly gives pain.
People physically active or those planning such activity should start under the control of a physiotherapist to avoid injuries caused by overburdening the muscles and joints.. Implementation of appropriate prophylaxis in combination with valuable physiotherapist’s advice is the best possible prevention of injuries.
HOW LONG IS A VISIT IS AND WHAT IS THE FREQUENCY OF MEETINGS?
Depending on the patient’s condition on a given day, the duration of therapy changes. In general, the therapeutic session lasts up to 45 minutes.
The frequency of meetings also depends on many factors. Most often, patients’ visits take place twice a week.
HOW MANY VISITS DO I NEED?
The number of visits is closely related to the type of problem the patient is facing. An individual approach to each patient, detailed interview and examination leads to a diagnosis. It is only on its basis that the approximate number of meetings is determined.
IS PHYSIOTHERAPY JUST A MASSAGE?
Massage is one of many forms of treatment in physiotherapy. In order to get information on other forms of therapy used in my office, visit the Offer section.
CAN PREGNANT WOMEN UNDERGO THERAPY?
If there are no contraindications from the gynaecologist, pregnant women can have physiotherapy. Since they are not allowed to use painkillers during pregnancy, physiotherapy is often the only way to relieve the back pain they frequently suffer from.
